# Alphabet CEO: If the AI bubble bursts, no company can escape unscathed

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet (GOOGL.US), stated in an interview with the BBC that if the artificial intelligence boom collapses, no company will emerge unscathed. He described the current investment frenzy in artificial intelligence as an "extraordinary moment," but also acknowledged the presence of irrational elements in the market. He believes that companies can weather the storm brought about by the bursting of the AI bubble, but thinks that no company, including theirs, can be completely spared.

Pichai also mentioned that Google will begin training artificial intelligence models in the UK, but warned that the energy demands of AI development are enormous. As the company significantly expands its computing capacity, its original net-zero carbon emission targets will be delayed. In September, Alphabet committed to investing £5 billion in the UK over the next two years for AI infrastructure and research, including the construction of a new data center and additional investment in DeepMind in the UK
