# CLP Power Hong Kong Limited has introduced energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies to the Metro City in Tseung Kwan O

CLP HOLDINGS (00002.HK) wholly-owned subsidiary CLP Power and Hang Lung Properties (00012.HK) will collaborate at the Tseung Kwan O Metro City to implement a comprehensive project covering one-stop cooling services, smart solutions, and community education, jointly promoting Metro City to become a sustainable community.

CLP Power will introduce an efficient cooling system for MCP DISCOVERY (Phase 3 of Metro City) and enhance unit efficiency through artificial intelligence management technology, which is expected to improve energy efficiency by over 50% and save more than 30% of cooling electricity consumption annually. This is also the first time Hang Lung Properties has applied Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Integration Method (MiMEP) in a shopping mall cooling system project, helping to accelerate system commissioning and enhance overall performance.

Additionally, CLP Power will introduce a new "Balanced Wave Synthesis Light Energy Saving Technology" for MCP CENTRAL (Phase 2 of Metro City) to optimize current distribution and reduce resistance, thereby decreasing energy consumption and enhancing the stability of the power system. With the comprehensive application of energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies, MCP CENTRAL (Phase 2 of Metro City) has become the first shopping mall to be registered for the "Green Building Assessment Existing Buildings Version 3.0" certification, demonstrating Hang Lung's exemplary role in the industry's green building transformation.

In addition to Tseung Kwan O Metro City, CLP Power will also introduce an efficient cooling system for Ma On Shan MOSTown New Port City (Phase 5), which is expected to improve the system's energy efficiency by over 30% and save more than 20% of cooling electricity consumption annually. The project is expected to be put into service in the second quarter of 2026.

Looking ahead, both parties will expand diversified carbon reduction solutions, including smart energy solutions, electric vehicle charging solutions, green building certifications, and public education activities, to more properties under Hang Lung, comprehensively enhancing the sustainability performance of the properties
