# Asian stock markets fell broadly, with the Nikkei 225 index down over 2% and the South Korean benchmark index down over 4%

Market risk aversion continues to ferment, with the Japanese and South Korean stock markets opening lower and declining further. The South Korea's Seoul Composite Index fell by 4%, while the Nikkei 225 Index dropped over 2%.

Previously, the Nikkei 225 Index opened down 1.2%, and the South Korea's Seoul Composite Index opened down 2.4%. The overnight S&P 500 Index reversed its early gains and closed significantly lower.
