# US Import Prices Edge Higher in September

US import prices rose 0.3% year-over-year in September 2025, after remaining unchanged in August, according to delayed government data.

Nonfuel import prices increased 0.8% from a year earlier, as higher costs for nonfuel industrial supplies and materials and for capital goods outweighed declines in automotive vehicles, foods and beverages, and consumer goods.

Fuel import prices dropped 4.0% over the same period.

On a monthly basis, import prices were flat in September, following a 0.1% rise in August and falling short of expectations for another 0.1% increase.
