# Apple and Google warn users in countries around the world to be aware of new cyber hacking activities

Apple (AAPL.US) and Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet (GOOG.US), issued a new round of cyber threat notifications to global users this week to prevent surveillance risks.

Apple stated that the warning was issued on December 2, but did not disclose further details about the hacking activities, the number of affected users, or the suspected attackers, only indicating that notifications have been sent to users in over 150 countries so far.

Google announced on December 3 that it has warned all accounts suspected of being targeted by Intellexa spyware, involving "hundreds of accounts distributed across countries such as Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Angola, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, and Tajikistan." Intellexa is a cyber intelligence company under U.S. sanctions, and Google stated that it continues to evade restrictions and operate
