# Global news you need to know before the U.S. stock market opens on Thursday

Inflation unexpectedly slows down! The core CPI in the U.S. for November is 2.6%, the lowest increase since 2021.  
The number of initial jobless claims in the U.S. fell to 224,000 last week, better than expected.  
Trump: Will soon announce a new Federal Reserve chairman, who is a candidate that supports low interest rates.  
A narrow escape with a 5-4 vote! The Bank of England "hawkishly" cut interest rates by 25 basis points, stating that further easing will be more difficult to judge.  
The European Central Bank held steady for the fourth consecutive time, reiterating that inflation will return to the 2% target in the medium term.
