# In the face of the impact from Gemini, is OpenAI continuously "bleeding"?

According to SimilarWeb data, since the release of Gemini 3, ChatGPT's traffic has decreased by 22% over the past 6 weeks, with the average number of visitors over the past 7 days dropping from approximately 203 million to about 158 million.

Tech industry executive Deedy believes this may be due to the holiday off-season, but its largest consumer competitor, Gemini, has maintained stable visitor numbers, currently accounting for about 40% of ChatGPT's traffic.

UBS believes that only a true leap update (GPT-6) launched in the first quarter of 2026 can quell doubts about Google's Gemini catching up.
