# On non-farm payroll day, New York gold futures rose by about 1.3%, accumulating over 4.3% this week

On Friday (January 9th), at the New York close, spot gold rose by 0.68%, reported at $4507.52 per ounce. After the release of the U.S. non-farm payroll report, it surged from below $4470, accumulating a weekly increase of 4.05%. It continued to rise from January 5th to 6th, dipped to $4400 on the 8th without success, and then expanded its gains again.
