# Hong Kong Express is once again ranked as the world's safest low-cost airline, topping the global list for two consecutive years

Hong Kong Express Airways announced that it has once again been selected by the international aviation safety and product rating agency AirlineRatings as the "World's Safest Low-Cost Airline for 2026," ranking first globally for the second consecutive year. The CEO of Hong Kong Express, Mao Jieqiong, stated that the airline has carried over 35 million passengers to date and will continue to focus on network expansion to provide reliable and safe air services across Asia.

Hong Kong Express currently operates a young and energy-efficient fleet of Airbus narrow-body aircraft, with an average age of less than 8 years.

Sharon Petersen, CEO of AirlineRatings, stated that Hong Kong Express has been rated as the "World's Safest Low-Cost Airline" for two consecutive years, maintaining an extremely low accident rate in one of the world's most strictly regulated markets, which is quite remarkable.

The selection of AirlineRatings' "World's Safest Low-Cost Airline" is evaluated by aviation experts and senior pilots, covering multiple indicators, including serious accident records over the past two years, accident occurrence rates, fleet size and age, fatal accident records, pilot professional skills and training levels, and whether the airline holds a valid International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification and meets International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) audit standards.

Additionally, in the list of the world's safest airlines among traditional carriers, Cathay Pacific (00293.HK) has risen to second place, with Etihad Airways in first place and Qantas in third place
