# Due to the decline in oil prices, Harold Hamm will suspend the Bakken shale oil drilling project

Harold Hamm stated that due to low crude oil prices, he is about to shut down his company's drilling operations in the Bakken region of North Dakota, marking the first time in decades.

According to a report by BloombergNEF, the average oil well in the Bakken region requires a price of at least $58 per barrel to recover costs and generate a slim profit. Hamm indicated that whether to return to drilling in Bakken in the future will depend on market prices
