Initial jobless claims remain low Supported by strong export growth and reduced inventory drag, **the U.S. economy grew slightly above initial reports in the third quarter of last year.** According to data released on Thursday, **in the third quarter of last year, the inflation-adjusted Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which measures the value of goods and services produced in the U.S., grew at an annualized rate of 4.4%**, marking the fastest growth rate in two years. The report indicates that **this is one of the strongest growth quarters for the U.S. since the economy was still in the recovery phase from the pandemic in 2021**. After a rush to import goods at the beginning of the year ahead of the full implementation of President Trump's tariffs, businesses have slowed their pace of goods imports. Despite the erratic trade policies, consumer and business spending remains strong. Against the backdrop of robust growth, a more stable job market, and inflation rates still above the Federal Reserve's target, the Fed is expected to keep interest rates unchanged at next week's meeting. The report also shows that the Fed's preferred inflation measure, the **core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index, which excludes food and energy, rose by 2.9% in the third quarter of last year**. Later, the U.S. will also release PCE price data for October and November, as well as personal spending and income data. **Consumer spending, a major engine of economic growth, grew at an annualized rate of 3.5% last quarter.** This reflects the fastest growth in service spending in three years, while goods spending also accelerated compared to the previous quarter. **Another report released on Thursday showed that initial claims for unemployment benefits remained low in the U.S.** According to data released by the Labor Department on Thursday, in the week ending January 17, initial claims for unemployment benefits increased by 1,000 to 200,000, below the expected 200,000. The number of continuing claims, which measures the number of people receiving benefits, fell to 1.85 million in the previous week, the lowest level since November of last year. **The latest weekly data is consistent with a labor market showing limited layoffs.** The four-week moving average, which helps smooth out fluctuations, fell to 201,500 last week, the lowest level in two years ### 相关股票 - [SPDR Djia (DIA.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/DIA.US.md) - [NASDAQ Composite Index (.IXIC.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/.IXIC.US.md) - [ProShares Ultra Dow30 ETF (DDM.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/DDM.US.md) - [Invesco S&P 500 Eq Wgt ETF (RSP.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/RSP.US.md) - [S&P 500 (.SPX.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/.SPX.US.md) - [Dow Jones U.S. Index (.DJUS.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/.DJUS.US.md) - [Guggenheim DJIA Ave Div (DJD.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/DJD.US.md) - [Pro UltrPro Dow30 (UDOW.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/UDOW.US.md) - [Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI.US)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/.DJI.US.md) ## 相关资讯与研究 - [US Initial Jobless Claims 202,000 Vs.
