# Trump endorses Duffy son-in-law in Wisconsin race

President Trump endorsed Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s son-in-law Michael Alfonso in the GOP primary to succeed Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) on Tuesday.

“Michael is the son-in-law of our GREAT Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, and the wonderful Rachel Campos-Duffy, of FoxNews, one of the most popular (and talented!) anchors in all of Television,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “His family has been fierce advocates for our Movement to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump lauded Alfonso, who’s married to Duffy’s daughter Evita, calling him a “MAGA Warrior” and a “young ‘STAR.’”

Alfonso, whose campaign website says he has a background in the construction and concrete industry before becoming a producer for “The Dan Bongino Show,” said in a statement on X that it was the “greatest honor” to receive the president’s backing.

“He is truly the greatest president of all time, and I pledge to be a steadfast MAGA warrior for the people of Wisconsin’s 7th District,” Alfonso added.

Alfonso is among a handful of Republicans vying for Tiffany’s seat in northwest Wisconsin. Tiffany is running for Wisconsin governor this year and received Trump’s endorsement on Tuesday.

Duffy held the seat prior to Tiffany, later joining Fox Business to co-host “The Bottom Line.”

Other Republicans running for Tiffany’s seat includes Jessi Ebben, who works for a Wisconsin-based manufacturer, private wealth advisor and former U.S. hostage in Iran Kevin Hermening and businessman and corporate lawyer Paul Wassgren.

Attorney Ginger Murray, former state Rep. Fred Clark and small businessowner Chris Armstrong are all running on the Democratic side.

Tiffany’s district went for Trump by more than 22 points in November, according to The Downballot, making whoever wins the GOP primary the heavy favorite to win in November.
