# Seatrium and Mammoet to load out 3 TenneT 2GW substations in Europe

**Netherland and Germany to host 15 HVDC connections by 2032.**

Seatrium and Mammoet have entered an agreement to load out three substations for TenneT’s two-gigawatt offshore grid connection programme, connecting offshore wind farms to the European mainland, according to a press release.

The programme includes the installation of 15 high-voltage direct current grid connection systems in the North Sea by 2032. Eight systems will be located in the Netherlands, whilst seven will be in Germany, each with a capacity of two gigawatts.

Seatrium will manufacture the topsides at its shipyards, with each weighing more than 30,000 tonnes. Mammoet will be on site to execute the movement and load-out of the platforms, using specialist skidding equipment to transfer each unit between land and sea-going vessels.

The project supports climate targets in the Netherlands, Germany, and Europe. The use of higher-capacity connection systems reduces the number of offshore facilities, helping to limit environmental impact, the press release said.
