# HopeGoo, a subsidiary of TONGCHENGTRAVEL, has surpassed 1 million monthly active users in Hong Kong over the past two years, targeting GEO to capture opportunities in travel AI

TONGCHENGTRAVEL (780)'s international travel booking platform HopeGoo has been developing in Hong Kong for nearly two years. CEO Shen Wenjing stated that the current monthly active users exceed 1 million, and this year they will further expand the market to Taiwan and Southeast Asia. She also mentioned that TONGCHENG is optimizing through Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to seize new trends in travel AI applications, driving future sales.

## Primarily Hong Kong Users, High Proportion of Youth

HopeGoo was established in mid-2024, with Hong Kong as its first development market. Shen Wenjing stated that the platform primarily serves Hong Kong users but has also reached users from various places around the world, including the United States, Malaysia, and Singapore, which also account for a certain proportion. She continued that after launching the HopeGoo platform, they successfully attracted young users, with 80% being under 40 years old, and their ordering types are diverse, with most repurchasing within two months.

## Expanding to Taiwan and Southeast Asia Within the Year

She stated that HopeGoo is working on establishing a base in Taiwan, including collaborating with local mainstream social platforms and hiring local employees; they also plan to expand their network to Southeast Asian countries within the year.

## Investing in GEO Field to Guide AI Search for TONGCHENG Information

Regarding AI applications, Shen Wenjing pointed out that TONGCHENG not only provides itinerary recommendations but is also investing resources in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), which allows AI agents or chatbots to more easily access information from the platform and generate relevant answers for its users, thereby promoting sales of TONGCHENG's flights, hotels, and travel activities.

## Travel AI Just Starting, CEO: No Giants

Shen Wenjing candidly stated that there are "no giants" in the development of travel AI, and the GEO work of various online travel platforms is still in its infancy. She also believes that even if AI agents can make booking commands from outside travel platforms, the current business model of online travel platforms (OTAs) is unlikely to change in the next 3 to 5 years, mainly because the user data of the platforms is not public, and the platforms have a continuously solidified customer loyalty
