# Report: Hedge fund AlphaQuest closes after three consecutive years of losses, returning funds to investors

The quantitative hedge fund AlphaQuest, established for about 25 years, has decided to close after three consecutive years of losses. The fund, managed by Nigol Koulajian and with a size of approximately $2 billion, will shut down and return all funds to investors after experiencing its worst consecutive losses in history. According to an informed source, the fund fell by 15.2% last year, with a cumulative decline of about 30% since it started to drop in October 2022. Continuing losses into the new year, the fund dropped more than 4% in February alone, with a cumulative decline of 3.1% since the beginning of the year. (Bloomberg)
