# Google integrates the lunar landing program robotics software company Intrinsic to streamline its layout in this field

Amid Alphabet's efforts to streamline its layout in the field, Google is integrating the former lunar program robotics software company Intrinsic.

After five and a half years of research and development at Alphabet's "Moonshot Factory" X, Intrinsic became an independent company under Alphabet's "Other Bets" business segment in July 2021. The parent company of Google announced on Wednesday that Intrinsic will be integrated into Google itself.

While hardware like robotic arms has become cheaper, programming them remains extremely complex, often requiring specialized engineers to spend hundreds of hours on manual coding, which can vary by specific robot.

Intrinsic's flagship product, Flowstate, is a web-based platform that allows users to build robotic applications without writing thousands of lines of code.

Intrinsic stated in the announcement: "Joining Google enables us to strengthen our collective work at the forefront of artificial intelligence, covering all aspects from research and development to deployment and daily operations, thereby achieving industrial use cases in manufacturing and logistics."
