Investors are digesting the earnings reports from NVIDIA and ServiceNow. The number of initial jobless claims in the U.S. last week was lower than expected. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 184.04 points, an increase of 0.37%, closing at 49,666.19 points; the NASDAQ Composite Index fell 44.54 points, a decrease of 0.19%, closing at 23,107.537 points; the S&P 500 Index rose by 0.01 points, closing at 6,946.14 points. After chip giant NVIDIA reported fourth-quarter revenue and profits that exceeded expectations, its stock price fell by 1.9%.
