# Paramount is reported to have paid Netflix $2.8 billion in termination fees

According to informed sources, after Netflix abandoned its plan to acquire part of Warner Bros. Discovery's business, Paramount Global has paid a breakup fee of $2.8 billion.

The sources said that Warner Bros. is expected to announce later on Friday that it has officially signed an agreement to be acquired by Paramount. These sources requested anonymity as they are not authorized to speak publicly about the matter.

On Thursday, Netflix announced its withdrawal from the acquisition of Warner Bros.'s film studio and HBO Max streaming business, paving the way for Paramount to acquire the entire Warner Bros. at a price of $31 per share
