# Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center in the UAE was affected by the war, causing a fire

Amazon (AMZN.US) subsidiary AWS stated that a fire was triggered at its data center in the UAE due to an impact from an unidentified object, resulting in a temporary power outage. Following attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, Iran immediately retaliated, affecting the UAE.

Reuters quoted AWS's response, stating that one of the "availability zones" in the area was struck by an object, causing a fire at the data center. The fire department has cut off power to the facility, and personnel are working hard to extinguish the flames. Restoration of connectivity in the affected area will take several hours. The company emphasized that operations in other areas of the UAE are normal
