# The U.S. Court of Appeals rejected the Trump administration's request for an extension, and the tariff refund lawsuit procedure has been restarted

After the U.S. Supreme Court rejected Trump's signature economic policy, the federal appeals court dismissed the U.S. government's request to delay further action on the dispute over tariff refunds for importers. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit immediately reinstated the relevant legal proceedings in an order on Monday and remanded the case to the U.S. Court of International Trade. The court denied the government's request to continue to suspend the case for up to four months. A group of small businesses that filed the lawsuit had urged the federal circuit court to promptly conclude its review phase so that they could expedite the pursuit of tariff refunds.
