The 2026 Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid crossover is now available to order at dealers in the United States, and thanks to some sort of supply chain wizardry, it’s actually cheaper than the model it replaces, as noted by Car and Driver. What’s more, the 2026 RAV4 PHEV now offers four trim levels to choose from, whereas the 2025 model only had two. The rugged-looking Woodland and racer-spec GR Sport are now part of the lineup, and the best part of it is that even with the tuned suspension and add-on bits, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 GR Sport PHEV, which is the new top trim, is still cheaper than last year’s top-spec model, the XSE PHEV. ## Gallery: 2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV 83 Source: Patrick George The base SE trim starts from $42,950, including destination, making it $3,315 more affordable than last year’s model. Next up is the Woodland trim, which was previously available only on the hybrid version of the RAV4. Now, the PHEV also gets it, and it starts from $46,750. Next up is the XSE PHEV, which costs $48,650–$1,910 less than the previous generation. Then, there’s the GR Sport, which comes with the same powertrain as all the other versions, but adds a sporty body kit, a wider stance, and different chassis and suspension tuning. It starts from $49,950, making it $610 more affordable than last year’s top trim. ![logo](https://imageproxy.pbkrs.com/https://cdn.motor1.com/custom/share/evus_newsletter_widget_logo.svg?x-oss-process=image/auto-orient,1/interlace,1/resize,w_1440,h_1440/quality,q_95/format,jpg) Stay informed with our newsletter every weekday back Subscribe For more info, read our Privacy Policy & Terms of Use. Despite the price drop, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV is better than its predecessor in just about every metric. Its all-electric range has gone up from 42 miles to 50 miles on a full charge, courtesy of a larger battery. Moreover, the Woodland and XSE trims now come standard with DC fast-charging capability through a CCS connector, with an advertised 10% to 80% top-up in approximately 30 minutes. When charging at home from a Level 2 charger, it takes a few hours. A 2.5-liter gas engine sits under the hood, but now the total system output is 320 horsepower, up from the previous generation’s 302 hp combined output. All-wheel drive also comes standard with the PHEV. More Toyota Stories Toyota Highlander Vs. Hyundai Ioniq 9 Vs. Kia EV9: Which Three-Row EV Is Best?
