# Ayar Labs, supported by NVIDIA, raised $500 million, with a valuation of $3.75 billion

Ayar Labs, supported and developed by NVIDIA, announced on Tuesday the completion of a $500 million Series E financing round, with a valuation of $3.75 billion.

This round of financing was led by investment firm Neuberger Berman, with new investors including ARK Invest, the Qatar Investment Authority, and 1789 Capital. After the financing, the company's total funding amount reached $870 million.

Investor interest in the AI ecosystem remains high, with venture capital and private equity firms betting that this technology will disrupt traditional workflows and continue to provide funding support for AI infrastructure companies.

Ayar's technology uses optical signals instead of traditional electrical signals, aiming to accelerate data transmission by connecting AI computing chips with storage chips. As hyperscale cloud providers and countries invest hundreds of billions of dollars to compete for dominance in AI infrastructure, the value of this technology is becoming increasingly prominent.

The company's competitors include:

-   Celestial AI (raised $250 million last March)
-   Lumentum and Coherent (both received a $2 billion investment from NVIDIA on Monday)

Ayar plans to use the new funds for:

-   Expanding production and testing capabilities
-   Expanding global operations, including a new office in Hsinchu, Taiwan
-   Accelerating the deployment of its Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) solutions
