# Tesla's sales in Australia in February soared more than double year-on-year

The latest data from the Electric Vehicle Council shows that Tesla's sales in Australia reached 3,274 units in February this year, a surge of 105.7% compared to the same period last year, with Model Y sales accounting for 2,791 units, a year-on-year increase of 202%.

In the first two months of this year, Tesla's sales in Australia totaled 3,775 units, a year-on-year increase of 61.9%.

This is partly due to the decline in sales of the Tesla Model Y in the first two months of 2025, as the company was gradually transitioning to the new Model Y model, with deliveries of the new model not officially starting until May 2025
