# Canada and Japan Strengthen Energy and Military Cooperation

On Friday, Canadian Prime Minister Carney met with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo, pledging to expand energy trade and military cooperation between the two nations. According to Jin10, the leaders announced a series of agreements, including Canada's goal to increase the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Japan. The two countries also plan to collaborate on more nuclear and clean energy projects. During his visit to Japan, following a long trip that included stops in India and Australia, Prime Minister Carney stated, "Canada has the capacity to double its LNG exports by the end of 2030 and to double them again by the end of the following decade." Prime Minister Takaichi noted, "Canada's abundant resources complement Japan's technology, and companies from both countries are advancing numerous ongoing projects."
