# The first mandatory insurance mechanism for liability in the low-altitude economy sector in China has been established in Chongqing

According to a report from the Economic Information Agency on the 18th, recently, under the coordination and promotion of the Chongqing Development and Reform Commission, Chongqing Financial Regulatory Bureau, and Civil Aviation Chongqing Regulatory Bureau, PICC Property and Casualty, as the chief underwriter of the low-altitude economy co-insurance body, jointly issued the first policy for the pilot implementation of mandatory insurance for unmanned aerial vehicles in Chongqing with 18 insurance institutions, providing RMB 42.6 million in risk protection for 194 drones operated by the Aerospace Science and Technology Group's Aerospace Era Low-altitude Technology Company. This marks the official establishment of the country's first mandatory insurance mechanism for liability in the low-altitude economy sector in Chongqing.

It is reported that the "Chongqing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Third-party Liability Insurance" issued this time is a customized insurance product tailored for Chongqing's "super-large city + mountainous characteristics" low-altitude operation scenarios. The product's terms include coverage for unique risks associated with low-altitude flight, such as aerial collisions, operational errors, sudden severe weather, communication link loss, spraying or airdrop operations, etc. (jq)
