# HSBC maintains the prime rate at 5% unchanged

HSBC Holdings announced today (19th) that the prime rate will remain unchanged at the current level of 5%. At the same time, the interest rate for Hong Kong dollar savings deposit accounts will also remain unchanged.

HSBC last adjusted the prime rate on October 31, 2025, when it reduced the rate by 12.5 basis points
