The project, internally codenamed "Transformer," is being developed by Amazon's Devices and Services division and is positioned as a highly personalized mobile device. The core of this phone is to simplify user operations through AI technology, potentially allowing functionality without the need for a traditional app store, aimed at making it easier for users to access services like Amazon shopping, Prime Video, and Grubhub. Informed sources stated that Alexa will be a core feature of the device, but it may not necessarily be the primary operating system. This is part of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos's long-term vision to create a device similar to the "ubiquitous voice assistant" seen in "Star Trek." The project is being led by the newly established "ZeroOne" innovation team within Amazon's Devices division, headed by former Microsoft executive J Allard.
