# Nissan's new hybrid system makes its debut in the United States: combining pure electric driving experience with a fuel engine

Nissan Motor plans to launch a new type of hybrid vehicle for the U.S. market: its driving experience is indistinguishable from that of a pure electric vehicle (EV), but the power source comes from a traditional fuel engine. This new technology, named "e-Power," is referred to as Series Hybrid, which uses the engine as a generator to supply power to the motor, which then drives the vehicle. After losing billions of dollars in the electric vehicle sector, automakers like Nissan are turning back to hybrid models
