The stock has accumulated a decline of about 3% this week. According to reports, a U.S. federal court has approved a class-action lawsuit against NVIDIA and its CEO Jensen Huang, allowing hundreds of thousands of investors to collectively pursue securities fraud claims regarding their alleged concealment of over $1 billion in GPU revenue related to cryptocurrency mining. Judge Haywood S. Gilliam of the Northern District of California issued the class certification order on March 25, 2026. The ruling covers investors who purchased NVIDIA common stock between August 10, 2017, and November 15, 2018. NVIDIA previously paid a $5.5 million fine to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in 2022 for failing to disclose that during the cryptocurrency boom of 2017-2018, its GPU revenue was driven not only by gaming demand but also by cryptocurrency mining. This undisclosed behavior is at the core of the current shareholder class action. This class certification is the latest development in this series of legal events, following an appeal to the Ninth Circuit Court, which was rejected by the Supreme Court in December 2024 regarding NVIDIA's motion to dismiss. This marks a key procedural milestone, transforming individual investor complaints into a unified class action with potential claims amounting to billions of dollars. Tesla, ranked second, fell 2.76%, with a trading volume of $22.356 billion. A court in Amsterdam issued an injunction on Thursday prohibiting Musk's chatbot Grok from generating AI-synthesized images of human nudity and child sexual abuse materials. The company owning Grok, xAI, faces a daily fine of approximately $115,000 if it does not comply with the order. The company has previously been sued in Baltimore and is under investigation by the European Commission and the UK's cybersecurity regulator, facing increasing legal pressure. Micron Technology, ranked third, rose 0.5%, with a trading volume of $16.246 billion. The stock has accumulated a decline of over 15% this week. The new technology TurboQuant released by Google has put pressure on storage tech stocks. Reports indicate that Google's research department has unveiled a new AI software technology called TurboQuant, which significantly reduces the memory requirements of large language models. This news triggered a sharp sell-off in data storage stocks as investors reassessed hardware demand expectations in light of more efficient software. Google's TurboQuant technology is expected to reduce AI memory usage by at least six times, posing a threat to the demand for physical storage hardware. Meta Platforms, ranked fourth, fell 3.99%, with a trading volume of $15.703 billion. Meta Platforms' stock price dropped nearly 4% on Friday, continuing a nearly 8% decline from the previous trading day. The stock has accumulated a decline of 11.4% this week This round of decline comes as the company faces unfavorable rulings in two separate legal cases. A jury in New Mexico ruled that Meta must pay a fine of $375 million, finding that its app failed to protect children from sexual exploitation. A jury in Los Angeles found the company liable for a young woman's social media addiction, ordering it to pay approximately $4.2 million. Analysts say that the settlement costs for addiction claims could reach billions of dollars. Meta stated that it disagrees with the ruling and is exploring its legal options. Investors are also weighing the company's aggressive spending on artificial intelligence data centers, with planned capital expenditures this year reaching up to $135 billion. Prior to this, the Reality Labs division had lost over $80 billion in the past five years. Meta has been laying off employees across the company and recently disclosed a stock option plan linked to a stock price increase of over 500% within five years. Amazon, ranked 6th, fell 3.95%, with a trading volume of $11.151 billion. Amazon's AI chip team has just lost another key member. Reports indicate that a senior leader associated with the Trainium processor has left, adding to the list of departures in that department. Gadi Hart previously led product and customer engineering at Annapurna Labs and played a significant role in shaping Amazon's self-developed AI chips. This team has been a core force in Amazon's push for self-developed chips and reducing reliance on external suppliers. Amazon acquired Annapurna Labs for $350 million in 2015, and since then, the team has become a key pillar of its AI infrastructure strategy. Notably, this pattern of departures is striking. Hart is the second executive to leave in seven months, following Rami Shinnar's move to Arm last August. In addition to the chip team, there have also been personnel changes at the senior level of Amazon's AI business, including the departure of Rohit Prasad, head of general artificial intelligence, by the end of 2025. All of this is happening amid increasing competition for AI talent across the industry. Broadcom, ranked 9th, fell 2.82%, with a trading volume of $7.078 billion. Reports indicate that an executive at Broadcom stated that its manufacturing partner TSMC's capacity is nearing its limits, and the entire industry is facing broader supply chain constraints amid a surge in demand for AI chips. "We see that TSMC's capacity has reached its limits," said Natarajan Ramachandran, director of product marketing for Broadcom's physical layer products, to reporters. "They will increase capacity before 2027, but this has already become a bottleneck, or rather, it has hindered the supply chain by 2026," he added. ExxonMobil, ranked 12th, rose 3.36%, with a trading volume of $5.138 billion. Driven by a surge in oil prices, the stock has risen over 7% this week Halliburton Company, in collaboration with ExxonMobil, Sekal, Noble, and the Wells Alliance Guyana team, has achieved breakthrough progress in the field of digital drilling construction, realizing the industry's first fully automated geological-guided completion operation offshore Guyana, along with fully automated rig operations. This project combines rig automation, subsurface interpretation, completion automation, and real-time hydraulics technology, setting a new benchmark for drilling construction performance, reservoir contact effectiveness, and execution efficiency. Lumentum, ranked 17th, rose by 2.02%, with a trading volume of $3.605 billion. On Friday, U.S. stocks in the optical communication and storage sectors rose against the market trend. Visa, ranked 19th, fell by 3.28%, with a trading volume of $2.951 billion. Andrew Ferguson, chairman of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), sent a letter to payment companies such as Visa and Mastercard, warning them not to refuse services based on customers' political or religious positions. Ferguson pointed out that there have been reports of some customers being "debanked" due to partisan reasons, emphasizing that such actions violate American values and could impact legitimate business operations and livelihoods. The Trump administration previously sued JPMorgan Chase and its CEO Jamie Dimon, alleging that the bank terminated business dealings with Trump for political reasons; Capital One Financial was also sued by Trump-affiliated businesses for discrimination. The banks involved have denied the allegations.
