The Innovation and Technology Commission stated that it is providing technical support for alternative solutions such as building battery swapping stations. Additionally, some car dealers are actively participating in the construction of oil-electric stations. The government recently updated the \"Electric Vehicle Popularization Roadmap\" and will no longer extend the \"one-for-one\" tax reduction for private cars, shifting the policy focus to charging infrastructure and promoting the popularization of electric commercial vehicles. The Chief Innovation Officer of the Innovation and Technology Commission, Du Yonghai, stated that due to the difficulties in installing charging facilities in older districts, Hong Kong can explore different alternative solutions beyond just increasing charging piles. Du Yonghai said, \"Instead of looking for charging piles, which require a long time to complete charging, I can think differently and quickly swap the battery at a battery swapping station.\" He also mentioned that the Advanced Energy and Smart Transportation Center under the Innovation and Technology Commission is assisting companies in building battery swapping stations in Hong Kong, providing localized technical support for introducing mainland brands of battery-swappable taxis. The first battery swapping station is located in Fanling and is expected to be put into service in the first half of this year. The center is also developing technologies for fast charging of electric minibuses. Furthermore, in response to the government's push for the popularization of electric vehicles, including convenient charging for taxis and other commercial vehicles, a car dealer has recently collaborated with an oil company to establish Hong Kong's first joint oil-electric station in Diamond Hill. Liu Qicheng, Managing Director of Yingzhijie Greater China, said, \"Parking lots have already matured as charging stations, and there are many different voices, so we will no longer expand in the field of building charging stations in parking lots. Instead, we will focus our efforts on gas stations, as they are ultimately very convenient places and do not require parking fees.\" The company's goal is to add three more oil-electric stations in Hong Kong within the year, with potential locations including Tsing Yi. Liu Qicheng pointed out that commercial vehicles currently account for 40% of the company's business, mainly taxis, and the lack of popularity of electric trucks is primarily due to mileage limitations. He is also concerned about the government's push to introduce hydrogen energy policies for new energy trucks with long range and fast refueling times. Liu Qicheng said, \"If hydrogen energy is so expensive, will the government provide some additional subsidies to help the development of this energy? We are in close communication with the government.\" The Innovation and Technology Commission also believes that hydrogen energy is an important direction for the development of green transportation. Du Yonghai said, \"Hong Kong has a city gas pipeline that has been safely operated for over 160 years, half of which is already hydrogen. This is an incomparable advantage for Hong Kong.\" He stated that utilizing the existing gas pipeline to extract hydrogen can significantly save infrastructure costs and believes that hydrogen energy has great development potential in Hong Kong" datetime: "2026-04-01T03:15:13.000Z" locales: - [zh-CN](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/281294177.md) - [en](https://longbridge.com/en/news/281294177.md) - [zh-HK](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281294177.md) --- > 支持的语言: [English](https://longbridge.com/en/news/281294177.md) | [繁體中文](https://longbridge.com/zh-HK/news/281294177.md) # [Hong Kong EV Development "Taking a New Path"] "Charging Exchange" and "Oil-Electric Stations" Accelerate the Popularization of Electric Vehicles 【Now 新聞台】本港推動電動車普及面對充電設施不足等問題,生產力局表示,正為興建換電站等替代方案提供技術支援。 ### 相关股票 - [HK & CHINA GAS (00003.HK)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/quote/00003.HK.md) ## 相关资讯与研究 - [Huatai Securities Keeps Their Buy Rating on Hong Kong & China Gas Co (HOKCF)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/280103557.md) - [China Shenhua posts audited 2025 results and plans RMB22.34bn dividend amid industry risks](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/281061851.md) - [Huatai Securities Reaffirms Their Buy Rating on BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) (BNKHF)](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/281318016.md) - [Some Hong Kong taxi drivers unprepared as new e-payments rule takes effect](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/281319202.md) - [Butong Group Expands Share Pool for Award Scheme With On-Market Purchase](https://longbridge.com/zh-CN/news/280828310.md)
