# Media Reports Trump's Ceasefire Terms: Requires Fulfillment of U.S. "Specific Demands"

According to Reuters, citing sources on April 1, U.S. President Trump has instructed Vice President Vance to privately convey a message to Iran: he is open to a ceasefire as long as "specific requirements," such as the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, are met.

The report stated that as of March 31, Vance was still discussing Iran issues with "intermediaries." Vance conveyed a "tough" message, saying Trump was "impatient." He also warned that unless Iran reached an agreement, Iranian infrastructure would face increasing pressure from strikes.

Axios, an American news outlet, also reported on the 1st that three U.S. officials stated that the U.S. is discussing the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement with Iran, conditional on the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. These officials also said it is unclear whether an agreement can be reached.

Trump had said earlier on social media that Iran "just asked the U.S. for a ceasefire," but the U.S. would "consider" it only when the Strait of Hormuz is open. He was scheduled to deliver a national address on the Iran issue later that day.
