"After 39 memorable years at East Coast Park, we bid farewell to a place that has welcomed generations of guests and been part of countless cherished memories," it said in the post. Founded in 1987, Jumbo is among Singapore's best-known seafood chains. Some of its most popular dishes include Singapore chili crab, black pepper crab, cereal prawns, salted egg yolk prawns and crispy baby squid. It operates seven outlets in Singapore and has restaurants across China, South Korea, Thailand and Cambodia, according to its website. The East Coast Seafood Centre outlet made up around 14% of parent company Jumbo Group's revenue in the financial year ended September 2025. Its closure is not expected to have a material impact on the group's consolidated net tangible assets per share or consolidated earnings per share for the 2026 financial year ending Sep. 30 since the outlet will continue operating until its lease expires, the group said in a regulatory filing last Friday cited by _The Business Times_. But the shutdown will likely impact the group’s revenue for the next financial year, it added. Jumbo Seafood's outlet at East Coast Seafood Centre. Jumbo said its landlord, the National Parks Board, is exploring plans to redevelop the center as part of broader long-term plans for East Coast Park. The agency told _Channel News Asia_ on Saturday that the redevelopment is aimed at improving visitors’ experience at the park. It said that it had earlier notified tenants that they would need to vacate the premises this year to give them sufficient time to make alternative arrangements. It had also offered flexible lease arrangements to help their transition.
