Meredith Hayden is cooking up her own show for Netflix, in another instance of the streamer turning to internet creators to produce original programming.
Hayden is a former New York City private chef (and ex-Vogue staffer) who built a career as a popular food influencer, amassing large followings on TikTok and Instagram under her Wishbone Kitchen brand, and she’s the author of bestseller “The Wishbone Kitchen Cookbook.” Through her viral “Day in My Life as Private Chef in the Hamptons” series, according to Netflix, she inspiried “a new generation of hosts, creators and culinary enthusiasts worldwide.”
In the new “Wishbone Kitchen” video podcast for Netflix, Hayden will dive into all things home cooking — in each episode, she cooks and chats through cozy recipes, kitchen tips and the small everyday rituals that turn a house into a home. The weekly video podcast will premiere on Netflix in August, with the exact date to be announced later. The show is produced by Somehow Studios.
“My career began as a private chef, cooking intimate dinners and creating meaningful moments in people’s homes,” Hayden said in a statement. “That experience shaped the way I think about food, hosting and everyday living — not as something performative, but as a genuine way to care for the people around us.”
She continued, “Now, I’m figuring out what it means to create a home of my own — in a 200-year-old barn in the Hamptons, with my dog, the occasional houseguest, and a lot of trial and error along the way. I still have so much to learn, but honestly that’s what makes this partnership with Netflix so special. This partnership is an incredible opportunity to share this journey beyond the community we’ve been building at Wishbone Kitchen and connect with more people through the universal joy of food, gathering, and creating a home.”
Hayden is repped by UTA’s Digital Brand Architects talent firm.
The new show continues Netflix’s string of deals for podcasts, showing that the company still believes it can get a return on its investment in the category.
Netflix’s slate of original podcasts includes “The Pete Davidson Show,” sports talk show “The White House with Michael Irvin,” and shows from Brian Williams, Evan Ross Katz and more. The company teamed with Spotify in a joint licensing deal for Jay Shetty’s popular “On Purpose” podcast said to be worth up to $100 million.
Podcasts that Netflix has licensed include The Ringer’s “Bill Simmons Podcast,” Jake Shane’s “Therapuss,” Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take,” and iHeartMedia shows from Martha Stewart, Lele Pons, the sibling duo of Kate and Oliver Hudson, and Charlamagne Tha God’s “The Breakfast Club.”
