This pattern was also evident in February, when the token broke $60,000 for the first time since 2021 and set a record in March. With the launch of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), the focus of trading has shifted to the United States. Since its debut on January 11, Bitcoin spot ETFs have attracted over $11 billion in net inflows. Research firm Kaiko reported that an indicator tracking the hourly high-low price difference of Bitcoin shows that Bitcoin's volatility is greater during US trading hours compared to Asian trading sessions; therefore, volatility is "more concentrated during US opening hours." BlackRock and Fidelity Investments, among other companies, have launched successful US Bitcoin spot funds, which are changing the structure of the crypto market. These changes include improvements in Bitcoin market liquidity and a surge in spot trading volume when ETFs calculate their net asset value at the close of US trading days. In contrast, during the peak of the US crackdown on cryptocurrencies in 2023, Asia seemed to briefly become the new center of the digital asset market. At that time, Bitcoin trading activity was more active during the Asian session. As of the time of writing, Bitcoin has fallen by about 1% to $70,265. On Monday, the cryptocurrency briefly surpassed $71,000 in the US, before the increase narrowed slightly to about 7%.
