# Spot gold fell 1.4% on Thursday, silver fell 3.6%, and gold and silver mining stocks generally declined

Spot gold fell by 1.39% to $2364.47 per ounce, with a significant plunge in the Asia-Pacific morning session, fluctuating downward throughout the day, hitting a daily low of $2353.24 at 01:27 Beijing time. Spot silver fell by 3.61% to $27.8485 per ounce, hitting a daily low of $27.4291 when the U.S. GDP, durable goods orders, and weekly jobless claims report were released at 20:30. Gold and silver mining stocks generally declined, with Pan American Silver down 5.72%, Harmony Gold down 5.15%, Barrick Gold down over 4%, Hecla Mining down over 2.5%, and Kinross Gold down by about 1.3%
