# Outlook: Due to factors such as weather, China's year-on-year CPI growth rate in August may further rise

Interviewed several industry insiders on September 4th to look ahead at the August CPI and PPI data. The interviewees generally believe that in August, affected by factors such as weather, the year-on-year increase in CPI may further rise; domestic demand trends are stable, coupled with the high base effect of the same period last year, the year-on-year decline in PPI may once again widen. Wen Bin, Chief Economist of Minsheng Bank, analyzed that in August, food prices driven by pork and seasonal effects are expected to rise on a month-on-month basis.
