# Investing an additional $2.1 billion! Amazon increases investment in delivery service projects

According to the financial news app Zhitong Finance, Amazon (AMZN.US) announced on Thursday that it will once again invest over $2.1 billion in its delivery service partner program. The company stated that this funding will be used for safety projects, rate cards, training, value-added services, and incentives. Over the past six years, the total investment in the small business delivery service program by the company has reached $12.3 billion.

Amazon stated, "In order to help DSPs (Digital Service Providers) provide higher wages and benefits to drivers, we will invest an additional $660 million next year for the expansion of DSP rate cards and bonuses. We expect that our investment will help DSPs raise driver wages to nearly $22.00 per hour on average nationally (depending on their location), a 7% increase from last year." It is reported that many DSPs are already paying their drivers over $22 per hour.

In terms of safety, Amazon mentioned that by the end of this year, it will use artificial intelligence and technological tools to identify risk features of 200 million roadways and provide 18 million safety tips for drivers
