# The "King of Retail" has secured an important position, and the qualifications of the new director and chief risk officer of China Merchants Bank have been approved

China Merchants Bank's move to strengthen its executive team has once again received regulatory approval.

On the evening of December 9th, China Merchants Bank announced that it received the "Approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration regarding the Qualification of Zhong Desheng as a Director and Chief Risk Officer of China Merchants Bank" (Jin Fu \[2024\] No. 800). According to the approval, Zhong Desheng's qualifications as a director and chief risk officer of China Merchants Bank have been approved.

Zhong Desheng's term as an executive director and chief risk officer of China Merchants Bank is effective from the approval date of December 6, 2024, until the end of the twelfth board of directors of the bank.

Public information shows that Zhong Desheng was born in July 1967, holds a master's degree in economics, and is a senior economist.

He joined China Merchants Bank in July 1993 and served as assistant president and vice president of the Wuhan branch from July 2005 to October 2021, general manager of the International Business Department at the head office, general manager of the Trade Finance Department at the head office, general manager of the Offshore Financial Center at the head office, president of the Guangzhou branch, president of the Corporate Finance Headquarters at the head office and general manager of the Strategic Client Department, and assistant president of China Merchants Bank. Since September 2023, he has also served as chairman of China Merchants Jinling Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.

Since October 2023, he has served as vice president of China Merchants Bank. In June 2024, the board of directors of China Merchants Bank reviewed and approved the "Proposal on the Appointment of the Chief Risk Officer of China Merchants Bank," agreeing to appoint Zhong Desheng as the chief risk officer. In June 2024, according to the relevant resolutions of the 2023 annual general meeting of shareholders, Mr. Zhong Desheng was elected as an executive director.
