# NVIDIA 78% of employees have become millionaires, but face a high-pressure work environment

**What is wolf culture?**

In recent years, NVIDIA has rapidly risen to become the second-largest company in the world by market value, even briefly surpassing Apple to take the top spot, thanks to its leading position in artificial intelligence and graphics processing. The latest data shows that 78% of NVIDIA employees have become millionaires (in USD), but behind this wealth miracle lies a high-intensity work culture and the constraints of "golden handcuffs."

Since 2019, NVIDIA's stock price has skyrocketed by an astonishing 3,776%. This growth has not only brought significant market value increases to the company but has also created unprecedented wealth for its employees. According to LinkedIn user Ruben D., nearly 80% of NVIDIA employees are now worth over a million dollars, with half of them having a net worth of even 25 million dollars (approximately 184 million RMB).

However, behind the high income is an overwhelming work pressure. NVIDIA employees generally report that they work 7 days a week, often staying late until 2 AM, while also facing intense meetings and strict time management requirements. It can be said that employees are basically working with "handcuffs," but these handcuffs are made of gold. Many employees have little time to spend with their families and are even starting to consider a "semi-retirement" status to alleviate the negative impacts of work.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang addressed this issue in a recent all-hands meeting. When asked how to handle older employees who are in a "semi-retirement" state, Huang stated, **working at NVIDIA is like "a voluntary sport,"** and each employee should manage their time like a CEO. Nevertheless, NVIDIA still ranked second in Glassdoor's "Best Places to Work" in 2024.
