特斯拉正在準備推出幾款新的更實惠的電動車，第一款預計基本上是簡化版的 Model Y，依據中國的一份新報告。

我們已經對特斯拉這一新車型項目進行了相當長時間的報道。

這一項目在一年多前啓動，作為特斯拉的一個轉型，因為首席執行官埃隆·馬斯克取消了兩款特斯拉正在開發的更便宜的車型，通常被稱為 “25,000 美元的特斯拉”。這些車型的代號是 NV91 和 NV92，基於特斯拉現在為 Cybercab 保留的新車型平台。

相反，馬斯克發現特斯拉的 Model 3 和 Model Y 生產線開始出現閒置，因為特斯拉麪臨需求問題。因此，特斯拉取消了基於新平台的車型項目，決定在 Model 3/Y 平台上使用相同的生產線製造新車型。
