# The U.S. Air Force suspends SpaceX's rocket project at the Pacific Atoll

On July 4th local time, the U.S. Air Force has suspended SpaceX's proposal to test hypersonic rocket cargo transport from the Pacific Atoll. A spokesperson for the Air Force stated that they are exploring other locations for the project. It is reported that the project will test a reusable rocket landing vehicle capable of delivering up to 100 tons of cargo to any location on Earth in approximately 90 minutes. Previously, biologists and experts expressed concerns that the project would endanger many seabirds nesting in the Johnston Atoll Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Air Force had stated that an environmental assessment would be conducted for the project, but the release of the assessment draft has been delayed due to opposition from environmental protection organizations
