On July 30 local time, the White House announced that U.S. President Trump declared a 50% universal tariff on imported semi-finished copper products and copper-intensive derivatives, effective August 1. On July 9, U.S. President Trump announced that a 50% tariff would be imposed on all copper imported into the United States starting August 1.
