# Zuckerberg's namesake lawyer sues Facebook after being banned 5 times

According to a report by the BBC on the 5th, Mark Zuckerberg, a lawyer from Indiana, USA, has filed a lawsuit against Facebook and is seeking compensation after being repeatedly banned from his social media account without reason due to sharing a name with the founder of Facebook. According to Mark's personal website, his full name is Mark Steven Zuckerberg, and he is a lawyer specializing in bankruptcy litigation in Indiana. To expand his business, Mark registered a real-name personal account on Facebook and paid $11,000 in promotion fees, but he has been banned from his account five times over the past eight years, which not only hindered his communication with clients but also resulted in no refund of the promotion fees he paid. Mark stated that the platform banned his account because it mistakenly believed he was impersonating Facebook founder Zuckerberg. However, Mark pointed out that he has been practicing under the name "Mark Zuckerberg" for 38 years and submitted multiple forms of identification when his account was first banned, which led to its reinstatement. Yet, Facebook continued to mistakenly ban his account, prompting him to sue Facebook in May of this year and seek compensation for the promotion fees he paid. Documents presented by Mark show that in addition to his account being frequently banned, he is often mistaken by netizens or various organizations for Facebook founder Zuckerberg, and he was even wrongly sued by the Washington state government in 2020. Facebook stated in a statement that they will closely monitor the situation to prevent such incidents from happening again and thanked Mark for his patience
