# Apple's AI executive Robby Walker will resign

According to informed sources, one of Apple's most senior artificial intelligence executives, Robby Walker, will be leaving the company.

Walker is one of the few executives who reported directly to AI chief John Giannandrea. Until earlier this year, he was responsible for Siri, until the management responsibilities for the voice assistant were transferred to software chief Craig Federighi. Some promised improvements for Siri have become a major frustration for Apple due to public delays.

After stepping down from his role with Siri, Walker became one of the core executives responsible for developing a new AI-driven web search system designed to compete with Perplexity and ChatGPT, which is planned for launch next year.

He is currently a senior executive overseeing Apple's Answers, Information and Knowledge team. According to informed sources, Walker plans to leave Apple next month. As this news has not been made public, the sources requested anonymity.

An Apple spokesperson based in Cupertino, California, declined to comment on this matter
