(MT Newswires) -- Airbus (AIR.PA) Defence and Space Division Head Michael Schoellhorn said that it is on track to sign a deal with Leonardo (LDO.MI) and Thales (HO.PA) for the merging of its satellite units.

The three entities' Project Bromo aims to form a satellite manufacturing joint venture worth 10 billion euros, Reuters reported on Sunday, citing an interview.

In an earlier report by Reuters, unnamed sources said the memorandum of understanding might be entered into by the end of September.
