# Opposing Musk's trillion-dollar compensation plan, unions and institutions launch the "Take Back Tesla" campaign

On October 22, Jin Shi Data reported that a coalition of unions and corporate watchdog organizations called on investors to pay attention to corporate governance issues, one day before Tesla (TSLA.O) released its quarterly earnings report. The coalition launched a campaign website called "Take Back Tesla" on Tuesday, urging shareholders to vote against CEO Elon Musk's nearly $1 trillion compensation plan, stating that it would further expand Musk's control over the company. The coalition criticized the massive compensation plan as "extremely outrageous," partly because Musk's political activities "have harmed the Tesla brand and distracted him from his leadership responsibilities at the company." The website pointed out that the compensation plan does not require Musk to prioritize Tesla.
