# Tether CEO: The number of users of the world's largest stablecoin USDT has exceeded 500 million!

Tether stated that this number represents 500 million "real users," not just Tether wallets, indicating that its stablecoin is currently used by approximately 6.25% of the global population.

Last month, reports indicated that Tether was negotiating with investors to raise up to $20 billion at a valuation of around $500 billion, a valuation that surpasses ByteDance and matches OpenAI, making it one of the highest-valued private companies in the world.
