The Hang Seng Index opened up 99 points, initially rising 139 points to a high of 26,788 points before falling back, at one point dropping 137 points to a low of 26,511 points, closing down 53 points or 0.2% at 26,595 points; the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index fell 30 points or 0.3% to 9,412 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 14 points or 0.25% to 5,900 points. In the technology sector, Tencent (00700.HK) fell 0.8% to HKD 644, with the company set to announce its earnings this Thursday (13th).
