# According to reports, Samsung Electronics has set a goal for its foundry business for 2027: to return to profitability and achieve a market share of 20%

On November 12th, Jinshi Data reported that Samsung Electronics has set a management goal for its foundry division for 2027, aiming to return to profitability by the following year and achieve a market share of 20% based on sales. Since 2022, Samsung's foundry business has been in a loss due to a lack of external advanced node contracts, with industry insiders estimating quarterly losses at around 1 to 2 trillion Korean won. However, driven by Tesla's large advanced process orders and the upcoming revenue contribution from the Taylor wafer fab in Texas, the overall status of Samsung's foundry business is expected to improve, which gives Samsung the confidence to set this goal
