# White House National Economic Council Director Hassett: The Federal Reserve may cut interest rates by 25 basis points instead of 50 basis points

Kevin Hassett, Director of the White House National Economic Council, stated that the Federal Reserve seems more likely to cut interest rates by 25 basis points.

Hassett expressed that he believes the Federal Reserve is unlikely to cut rates by 50 basis points.

Hassett spoke at the Washington Economic Club,

Hassett stated that if Trump invited him to serve as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, "I would accept."

Hassett also mentioned that he agrees with Trump's view that interest rates could be much lower
